Sponsoring employers of the RPS vary dramatically. Some might be large enough to have dedicated pension teams, but other smaller employers typically rely on finance or HR staff to manage the pension. There's no denying that pensions are complex and hard to understand for many. And, anyone managing the pension as a bit of a side-hustle to their main role, are probably no different. They may know little in practical terms to help with colleague queries about their pension and saving for the future.

The toolkits are designed to support all employers but particularly those without any internal pension resource. They contain a variety of tools which use a wide range of media to accommodate all types of employee working practices. The tools fall into two categories:

 

• Employer support. The kits each come with comprehensive guidance to support the employer on how to get the most from it, plus campaign plans for those who have the infrastructure to deploy them, and a set of articles and possibly PPT presentation, if appropriate.

• Member-facing materials. The rest of the package contains member-facing materials which generally include a suite of posters, web banners, social media posts, email templates, help files or infographics, and sometimes video. 

 

All the kits and individual tools are hosted on a dedicated website where employers can go in and pick'n'mix what's suitable for them.
